LET´S MAKE YOUR HOME A SMART HOME - LET´S GET YOUR HOME SMARTER
I started in the automation a little behind in the game, I am not a tech-savvy actually I am a tech wrecker, I have the tendency to ruin good devices.
I must say I am a bit earthy and minimalistic in my lifestyle like many I thought automation was not for me or didn’t fit with my approach of living, that it was for wealthy people, it was expensive and definitely it was for knowledge users such as electronic or electric engineers. When in fact I was totally wrong, and in the previous posts (5 myths of automation, volume I and II) you can understand why I had a misconception about it.
This post is not to shame anyone; is to show that everyone can have a tech home while saving money and making the most of your day and your home appliances.
The offer on the market is huge and might be overwhelming, I am not going to focus on our competitors which have their strengths and flaws.
This aims to educate you about our ecosystem, about our product. I came to U-WIGO not knowing anything and never felt so wrong about something until I started to get to know the technology behind and the benefits and properties of the U-WIGO and U-NIV3RS3.
My home is becoming little by little into a smart home, I am taking it to my own pace with the confidence that the steps and products I am picking adapt to my lifestyle. To my surprise, most of the u-niv3rs3 is going to work well for me and my family. Even my mom (a stubborn Latin lady at her 60´s –never tell her I said her age on a public record – an old fashioned lifestyle that says “faisbul” instead of Facebook, that fights with Google Home all the time saying that my home assistant, hates her) – is getting used to all of this tech at our home. My journey has just begun, I obviously started with the brain of the home, U-WIGO, and one outlet, U-OUTLET.
-First, I´ve installed the U-WIGO CONNECT APP and the U-OUTLET, follow the instructions, or get someone’s help due for this you will have to handle the electricity, once this is done I´ve created a zone for my room.
My old T.V. (whose remote control was never to be found, meaning I have to stand up to turn it on/off and use the coder remote control to change channels) and A.C, U-OUTLET and an old Google Home I got really cheap because someone thought it was a strange speaker, a total bargain.
-Second, I´ve created scenes according to my average routine, I have got a good established scheduled.
– At 20:00 my A.C. turns on, at a comfortable temperature of 25° C.
– Then at 10:00 p.m. all lights in my room and T.V. turns off and the A.C. turns off.
– My fan turns on at 01:00.
– At 05:00 the fan turns off and around that time I wake up and start my day.
This is all I have for now in my home and I can share with you, as said I am just starting and I am getting very much adapted to my small steps and changes into my new automation lifestyle.
As my experience keeps getting better and I am getting more use to this, I will for sure expand it to more spaces in my home. I strongly suggest to begin into this way of living, you will see that with small changes you will learn to trust and have more gadgets into your home whether you do it to save energy, to make a small contribution to the environment or to your pockets, maybe you want to use those extra minutes of your day you have gained into meditating or being with your family or have a stress-less day, among a lot of benefits, Automation might just be what you need.
